We are thrilled to announce that one of our own, Ariel Mendonça, has been awarded an Honourable Mention in the recent Macao-wide English Essay Competition held by the Macao Professional Speaking Association. This year’s theme was “Nature and Me”. EPM had 19 students participating in the competition. Participants were challenged to express their thoughts, ideas, and reflections through the written word, demonstrating creativity, critical thinking, and mastery of language. Students had to write an essay that would address the following questions: “What is our role and relationship with nature and how does it relate to The 2030 Agenda? What is your vision of a sustainable world and what can you and your community do to achieve this vision?” The award ceremony took place on March 16, 2024 at the Macao Science Centre. Ariel’s achievement highlights not only her exceptional writing skills but also her insightful perspective on the given topic. Her thoughtful analysis and eloquent prose earned her a well-deserved place among the honorees. Ariel’s achievement serves as inspiration for aspiring writers and reinforces our commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence and creative expression. Congratulations, Ariel, on this remarkable achievement! We look forward to seeing where your writing journey takes you in the future. Temos o prazer de anunciar que a aluna Ariel Mendonça, da EPM, foi galardoada com uma Menção Honrosa no recente “Macao-wide English Essay Competition”, organizado pela “Macao Professional Speaking Association”. O tema deste ano foi “A Natureza e Eu”. Dezanove alunos da EPM aceitaram o desafio e deitaram mãos à obra! Os participantes foram desafiados a expressar os seus pensamentos, ideias e reflexões por meio da palavra escrita, demonstrando criatividade, pensamento crítico e domínio da linguagem. Os alunos tiveram que escrever uma redação que abordasse as seguintes questões: “Qual é o nosso papel e relação com a natureza e como isso se relaciona com a Agenda 2030? Qual é a tua visão de um mundo sustentável e o que cada um de nós e a nossa comunidade podem fazer para alcançar essa visão?” A cerimónia de entrega de prémios teve lugar no dia 16 de março de 2024, no Centro de Ciência de Macau. A conquista de Ariel destaca, não apenas as suas excecionais habilidades de escrita, mas também a sua perspetiva perspicaz sobre o tema em questão. A sua análise cuidadosa e prosa eloquente valeram-lhe um merecido lugar entre os homenageados. Este prémio serve de inspiração para aspirantes a escritores e reforça o compromisso da escola em promover uma cultura de excelência académica e expressão criativa.
